Prior to joining Forward Swindon, Mike ran Swindon Cultural Partnership (from July 2007), helping to establish it as an important vehicle for strategic and sustainable cultural development in Swindon. Before that Mike was Director of the Visual Arts Data Service (www.vads.ac.uk), a National organisation which advises and provides resources to the Arts and Humanities higher education community and works alongside major art galleries and institutions across the UK. He has also worked for English Heritage and was, for many years, a designer and illustrator. Mike has produced books for Usborne and Collins Children's Division, and also designed album covers for all the big names in music (Tchaikovsky, Beethoven etc.). Perhaps more importantly, he has worked with such household names as He-Man, Transformers and Thomas the Tank Engine.

Mike’s role is to develop sustainable models for cultural activity across the Borough and to advocate the importance of culture in the regeneration process.
