Ongoing Management of Canal Walk, Regent Street, Wharf Green and associated artwork and components

Project status: Current

 

Responsible for the ongoing Management & Maintenance of Wharf Green, Canal Walk, Regent Street and their associated artwork & Components. These include;

 

Green Walls

Responsible for the management of the Green Walls 10 year maintenance contract with ANS Europe Ltd. There are quarterly Management meetings held to evaluate the plant growth and technical aspects of the walls with the remit to provide a flourishing and lively environment. The management team include representatives from the Brunel Centre, Swindon Borough Council, ANS and Forward Swindon.

 

 

Stacked Wall Water FeatureWater Feature Catchment Tray

Responsible for the 5 year maintenance contract with Waterscapes Ltd. Their remit is to maintain the technical elements and to test for Legionella bacteria on a monthly basis and to remove any foreign objects that get into the filters.

 

 

Canal Walk & Flooring LightingCanal Walk

Responsible for the ongoing maintenance and management of Canal Walk through the post build limited defects period and beyond. The contractor, Skanska Infrastructure Services have concluded their liability for the paving and are now only responsible for the soft landscaping element for another three years.

 

 

Big Screen & Wharf Green

Ongoing technical management for the Wharf Green area and Big Screen. The role includes retrospective remedial works and recently engineered and installed an underground Christmas Tree holder, that would take a tree of up to 45ft. The tree holder will also hold a 50ft flag pole, used in the Remembrance Day Parade and other events. The base structure was manufactured by Swindon Engineering Metalworkers and installed by Skanska Infrastructure Services.

The big screen has a 5 year maintenance contract with TMC Ltd that perform regular visits and emergency repairs if needed. The content on the big screen is currently provided by the BBC.
