Currently the construction works on Canal Walk have created 8 new local jobs with more to follow.

All the the paving setts are to be reused with the Blacks and Yellows are being given to Swindon Commercial Services for reuse/reinstallation around the town centre as these colours are not made anymore.

The “Red” paving setts are going to; Swindon Reclaim, Unit 10 Tate Industrial Estate, Kingsdown Road, Swindon, SN25 6SF (01793 827163) where a small percentage of the resale of these paving setts will be put back into the project budget.

We are also reusing all the street furniture such as the benches (some have been installed in Regent Street already), lighting columns, cycle stands and bins.

Most of the waste aggregates are being recycled or reused on this and other construction sites after they have been crushed and filtered.
