Campaign for Swindon
In 2012 Forward Swindon launched a campaign to raise awareness of Swindon as an excellent base for business – we’re currently in our second year. The aims of the campaign are to:
- Promote Swindon for business. Our team communicates the compelling reasons why Swindon is a great place for business, including its connectivity, attractive lifestyle and regeneration projects.
- Work on behalf of businesses. We ease any barriers to relocation, including solving transport and infrastructure issues and sourcing suitable premises.
- Embed businesses into Swindon. We help establish businesses in the community, for example, by promoting the business through PR, supporting growth plans, highlighting apprenticeship opportunities, and making connections with the local business network.
- Provide a free personal service. Our team stays in touch with businesses, establishing strong relationships and proactively resolving any issues that may impede their move to Swindon.
The campaign includes PR, advertising, social media, and the creation of case study videos featuring successful businesses already here in Swindon. The campaign is anchored at the website www.swindon.uk.com, which offers a property search and enquiry points.
Since the launch of the campaign, the number of enquiries has tripled compared to 2011 and the new inward investment service has successfully secured the arrival in Swindon of several significant businesses, with a rolling pipeline of around 30-35 prospects.
