TRANSFORMING SWINDON’S PUBLIC REALM

Part of Forward Swindon’s Delivery Plan is a movement and access strategy to reduce vehicle dominance in Swindon and encourage healthier alternatives.

Three principles are driving long-term plans; rethinking the ring road, prioritising walking and cycling, and improving links between the town centre and its neighbourhoods.

In the immediate short term, public realm improvements to the Station Arrival Quarter, along Wellington Street for example, are a priority to improve first impressions.
