Swindon is home to a wealth of growing and innovative businesses across a wide range of industry sectors.  The town’s economic strategy is focused on sustainable growth, maintaining our very high levels of productivity and ensuring that the people of Swindon participate in and benefit from, the town’s success.

The Forward Swindon team drives initiatives that can support economic growth.  This will come from investment by business, whether this is expansion by those already in the town or new companies setting up or relocating here. As a team we get engaged in activities such as:

• Working with Swindon Borough Council to ensure a good supply of employment land to meet the needs of a growing economy.
• Connecting with landowners, agents and developers to bring sites forward.
• Driving a range of projects and initiatives aimed to meet the skills needs of local businesses and the infrastructure needs of the Swindon economy. Part of our role is to ensure local people have the skills and education required for them to find work.
• Working with partners on projects that support the position of Swindon as an innovative business location, for example, encouraging new technologies and low carbon business activity.
• Promoting Swindon to attract new businesses to the town and supporting those that are interested in moving here.
